September 30, 2026: sources and historical context

We removed internal reporting notes from reader pages and corrected source links for Monterey’s Measure S, Wright County’s plate-reader coverage, Proctor’s body-camera plan and the Tom Green County camera vote. The San Angelo Cottonwood closure now appears once with the specific city notice. San Angelo’s February police-technology grant and HLWW’s 2024 AI classes are labeled as historical background. The old catalogs do not establish a current class offering.

These corrections also apply to the affected archived editions and prepared email copies. The community count and Hawaiʻi spelling have been corrected.

Corrections

When CogniLocal gets a substantive fact wrong, the published text is corrected and the correction is disclosed.

Current corrections

September 29, 2026: Collins trial landfill

The trial report incorrectly described a Wisconsin landfill. Investigators searched the Elk River landfill in Minnesota. The charge is second-degree murder, as ABC Newspapers reports.

Corrected Columbia Heights edition

September 28, 2026: Council election terms

The four-year term length has been removed because the cited election page does not state it. The election date, three seats, ballot-mailing date and drop-box information remain.

Corrected Parker edition

September 28, 2026: Jaskowski bid notice

The Town’s actual bid notice has been added. It lists publication on August 26 and a September 24 closing date. The article cites the specific bid notice for the dates and scope; the obsolete reference to an Open status has been removed. The unsupported solicitation number and drainage detail have been removed.

Corrected Berthoud edition

September 28, 2026: Central Avenue shooting source

A CBS Minnesota source identifying Hook Fish and Chicken has been added. The restaurant name had been attributed to a FOX 9 report that did not name it.

Corrected Columbia Heights edition

September 28, 2026: Collins trial sourcing

The unsupported description of the charge as second-degree has been removed from the September 27 and 28 reports. The September 28 report now refers to investigators in the plural, as the cited report does.

Corrected Columbia Heights edition

September 28, 2026: HeightsNEXT cleanup

The September 28 edition incorrectly said the organizer still displayed a 2025 fall date. HeightsNEXT lists October 3, 2026, at 9 a.m.

Corrected Columbia Heights edition

September 28, 2026: Sports complex name

The project name has been corrected from Nexus National Complex to NXS National Complex, matching the cited publication.

Corrected Proctor edition

September 28, 2026: Food Shelf evening schedule

The October 21 evening session was presented without current confirmation. The earlier announcement is visible in search-indexed text, but not on the current linked page. The evening schedule is now marked unconfirmed; the official regular-hours page and phone number are provided.

Corrected Proctor edition

September 28, 2026: Pickleball contract award

The September 28 tracker incorrectly treated the contract award as unresolved. The August 17 Council minutes record an award to Veit for $214,958. Construction progress remains the open question.

Corrected Proctor edition

September 28, 2026: Howard Lake Senior Group dates

The September 27 Waverly / Howard Lake edition stated that Senior Group meetings were scheduled for October 1 and 15. We could not support those October dates from the city calendar available for review. The dates have been removed from the archived web report and the correction is included in the September 28 web and email editions.

The city’s calendar identifies Howard Lake Library’s community room as the meeting location. Readers should confirm the next gathering with City Hall at 320-543-3670. Current report · City calendar

How corrections are handled

For a substantive error in a web edition, CogniLocal corrects the published text and adds a brief correction note explaining what was wrong and what is correct.

When a substantive error appears in an emailed edition, the web edition is corrected and the correction is carried in the next emailed edition in a consistent Corrections section. An error that creates an immediate public-safety, legal or materially harmful misunderstanding may require a separate correction message.

Report an error

Email editor@cognilocal.com with the community, story headline and the fact you believe needs correction. Reader reports are reviewed against the same sourcing standards used for published reporting.
