Parker's new data center is part of an AI-driven infrastructure buildout

Flexential is building a 249,000-square-foot, 22.5-megawatt data center in Parker. The company describes the facility as high-density and liquid-cooling-ready, with connectivity designed for AI and machine-learning workloads.

In August 2026, Flexential said financing for projects including Denver-Parker was intended to build capacity ahead of enterprise and AI-driven infrastructure needs. AI is therefore reaching Parker not only through software but through major physical infrastructure.

Parker police budget includes expansion of its Flock license-plate-reader system

Parker’s adopted 2026 budget includes $55,600 for enhancements to the Police Department’s Flock Safety license-plate-reader system. The budget describes the project as part of the town’s technology-management allocation.

That means automated vehicle-identification technology is already an established Parker police system with additional spending approved, separate from newer proposals involving drones and other plate-reader equipment.

ONGOINGParker

Parker is considering drone first response and a second plate-reader platform

In August 2026, Parker Town Council reviewed a proposed public-safety technology package that would add a Drone as First Responder program using Skydio aircraft and Axon automated license-plate readers, the Denver Gazette reported.

No purchase decision had been made at the study session. Police officials presented the technology as a possible way to improve response times, officer safety and staffing efficiency, so this remains a proposal to watch rather than an adopted deployment.

School district sets direction for responsible AI use

Douglas County School District includes AI in the strategic commitments accompanying its 2026 through 2027 Code of Conduct. The district describes using AI to save staff time, support personalized learning and prepare students, with an emphasis on safe, ethical and responsible use.

This is a district policy direction affecting Parker schools. It does not identify a particular classroom product or establish which Parker schools have deployed a tool. Those implementation details, including student-data rules and oversight, remain the next questions.
