Pine Lane detour remains in place during intersection work

Pine Lane is one-way, westbound only, between Pine Drive and Dixon Drive, and Douglas County says it will stay that way for a couple of months while crews build underground storm drainage on the south side of the road. Eastbound drivers are detoured at Colorado 83 (Parker Road) to Lincoln Avenue or Ponderosa Drive.

Pine Lane remains open in both directions between Dixon Drive and Colorado 83. The county says local and business access continues, including to Sierra Middle School and AdventHealth Parker. Drivers should also expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Saturday on northbound Pine Drive and on Ponderosa Drive, with a 30 mph construction-zone limit.

County project update: September 21, 2026. Expected length of the one-way closure: a couple of months.

Council to consider $1.34 million Hilltop Road intersection contract October 5

Parker Town Council's agenda for Monday, October 5, includes a proposed $1,339,679.75 contract with Denver Dirt Works, Inc. for improvements at the Parker Road and Hilltop Road intersection. Town staff recommends approval; the Council has not yet voted.

Staff says the work would add a second left-turn lane from westbound Hilltop Road to southbound Parker Road and a dedicated right-turn lane from northbound Parker Road to eastbound Hilltop Road, along with widening, drainage and signal work. Denver Dirt Works was the lowest of 10 bids; the engineer's estimate was $1,785,000.

The agenda also includes the second reading of an ordinance that would give the Town's Finance Director subpoena power to obtain records during sales and use tax audits, or when tax payments are missing or don't match. The public meeting is set to reconvene at 7 p.m. after an executive session that begins at 4 p.m.

Phase 2 would add two lighted tennis courts, 17 lighted pickleball courts, two basketball courts, a sports courts building, an outdoor fitness area, a community hub pavilion, an inclusive playground and spray ground, a bike park, and parking and landscaping. Phase 1, approved by the Council in July 2025, is under construction. Because the Town owns the park, the plan also needs a Town Council public hearing.
